One of the most powerful action verbs in the Bible

BLOG - Wait on the Lord (Courier) (Long Image).JPG

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

So often we view the word “wait” as a type of “passive resignation.” Sitting idle until instructions or greater clarity are revealed. However, the Hebrew word for “wait” is “gavah,” which means to look to God with expectancy. It is a word of action. Those who are truly waiting on the Lord are those who are actively preparing to receive the promises that have yet to be revealed. Those things that live simply through our faith as we await their manifestation.

Isaiah 40:31 Translated: But those who trust and believe God will deliver on his promises and live their life with active hope and an expectant attitude of faith, shall have a renewed level of energy and vitality for a life of victorious living. And God will not only elevate them, but will sustain their strength for the journey they will take to fulfill purpose and receive the blessings of the Lord.

For those of you who live in places around the world where collective worship is hard to find, I hope you enjoy the video I have posted below. Let this song and their time of worship minister to your heart as you actively wait on the Lord.
