This Is A Move
I am remembering a time when I was praying for my children. Not just your average prayer. I was on my knees begging God to protect them, keep them close to Him, and deliver on His promises. Everyday I would beg God over and over again, petitioning heaven to move on their behalf.
Have you ever tried so hard to reach so deep to pull forth something that would help God see the true depth and intensity of your cry for help? That was me.
One day I was feeling exhausted from praying. So, I sat down to exhale for a moment and somehow a music video popped up in my phone. Out of curiosity, I listened to the song, which I have posted below. This song is by an artist named Tasha Cobbs Leonard. In this song she is praying, “God, we need a move.” Her words were the perfect prayer for me. Then, midway the song, she switched the lyrics and said, “This IS a move!” I began to weep and praise God with the same intensity I was previously using to beg God.
If you have ever had a moment when the Spirit of the Living God tapped you on the shoulder to get your attention, this was that moment for me. I suddenly realized that everything happening around me and my children was God moving and answering our prayers. I just didn’t have the eyes to see it from His perspective, and assumed he was waiting. Actually, he was moving and I was the one needing to wait. I didn’t need to wait on God to move, I needed to wait on God’s supernatural orchestration to be revealed at a level that allowed my limited eyes to see it.
God was moving pieces all around us like ponds, queens, kings, and knights on a chessboard. I couldn’t see those movements. But it was crystal clear when it was checkmate! I had lost sight of the fact that not only does God have a better view, He also has infinitely more options than I could imagine. He was letting me know that I didn’t need to keep begging him. He heard me the first time! What I was watching happen in my children’s life was a “move.” I realized that God has the ability to take what appears to be setbacks and turn them into setups the lead to our answered prayers.
I have included Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s song below not for you to judge the musical quality or style. I have specifically posted the lyric video so you can follow along and let the words of this song not only be your prayer, but also help you take a fresh new look at God’s ability and desire to answer prayers.
In the midst of all that is occurring in the world today, you are not forgotten, your prayers have not gone unheard. God started moving on your first prayer. If you have prayed to God with a sincere heart then God is moving you towards your healing, your hope, your mountain top.
I love the fact that God doesn’t require language like we do. He gets our message straight from the source - our heart. That means, he never misinterprets our intentions or our requests.
I hope you will receive the words of this song and let it become your declaration.
